Stress related hair loss

Though there are several reasons sited as the potential cause of hair loss, stress is definately on the top of the list.

According to medical reports and information on medical websites, there are three types of hair loss associated with high stress levels:

Alopecia Areata

Severe stress is thought to be one of the causes of Alopecia Areata. White blood cells attack the hair follicle, stopping hair growth and making hair fall out.

Telogen effluvium

Emotional or physical stress pushes large numbers of growing hairs into a resting phase. Within a few months, the affected hairs may fall out suddenly when simply combing or washing your hair.

Trichotillomania Trichotillomania (trik-oh-til-oh-MAY-nee-uh)

An irresistible urge to pull out hair from the scalp, eyebrows or other areas of your body. Hair pulling can be a way of dealing with negative or uncomfortable feelings, such as stress, anxiety, tension, loneliness, fatigue or frustration.

Sudden hair loss can be a sign of an underlying medical condition that requires treatment so it is important to seek the advice of your doctor. But if you feel the condition is due to stress, it is important to deal with what is causing the stress.

There are natural treatments that have amazing effects on the body. From personal experience, I know what a devastating experience it is to lose large amounts of hair. As if it is not bad enough to be so stressed out, losing hair just makes matters worse. But stress induced hair loss can be reversed and hair can grow back once the underlying cause is identified and dealt with.

Mineral deficiencies may also be a cause of the above listed conditions. Most diets are extremely mineral deficient and many of these conditions can be quickly remedied with proper nutrician.
