Chronic stress can damage the brain and cause health issues, such as:

It allows us to let go of stressful situations more easily once the issue is resolved.      GABA and serotonin supplements may help in treating such an imbalance. It is recommended to first try one to see if there is a positive effect. It not, it is recommended to try the other or both.

While supplementing GABA and serotonin can help heal the brain, there also needs to be psychological healing in addition to the supplements.  When dealing with anxiety and depression there may be an underlying issue on a psychological level.  Re-living emotions that trigger depression and anxiety can be terrifying.  Supplementing GABA and serotonin can help ease some of this fear and make it more bearable to face painful emotions.

In order for the supplements and therapy to have the most powerful effect, it is important to give the brain all the tools it needs to heal.  Finding out if you have any food sensitivities and eliminating them from your diet, improving blood sugar if it needs it, and eliminating metal toxins will all aid in healing and balancing the brain.
